Many appliances are considered to maintain the space between teeth after a removal. The space is often necessary for the eruption of an adult tooth. Dr. Sierra, Dr. Kwon, or Dr. Pettit will determine if your child will benefit from a space maintainer based on the location of tooth loss, age, and specific dental needs.
